Oh, hello there...
Ok so I ditched Live journal.
We'll see how this goes. Now friendlies can post here and I can have last.fm and flickr stuff on here. I probably could on lj too but this is cooler.
My last lj post was roughly 1 million years ago. So since then I've moved to NYC for 6 months for an internship. This 6 months are almost up (I go back to school late august). The internship has been good. I've found out that corporat jobs are not for me, although I have made some excellent contacts. So in short i'm fairly bored with work, but not with this city.
Its awesome living here because everything is at your fingertips. Every single movie plays here, all the bands come here, and every company has a store here. Although the climbing scene is a little weak. The running scene on the other hand is aweosme. Too bad i'm in physical therapy with a hold on running [face_ultra_dissapointed]
Speaking of climbing, I went to this new rock gym up in New Rochelle yesterday and it was pretty amazing. Around 50 bleay stations, 4 bouldering caves. Fun times. I obviously haven't been bouldering enough since i'm missing 3 finger pads :
I'll hopefully be playing soccer tomorrow at Columbia with some friends. This the highlight of my Mondays. Please don't criticize me for calling is soccer and not football...the last thing I want is for someone to read this and think I'm playing american football, which is right up there with baseball as one of the most useless sports.
I've also gotten back into comics. Years and years ago i used to love the Aliens/Predator/Rogue Squadron comics. Well, 2 weeks ago I found myself wandering around the city and wound up in a comic store. The rest of this story can be told from the pile of recipts on my kitchen table. On series that is particulary notable is Fables. It takes all of our favorite fairly tale characters and throws them in NYC where they live in exile after being kicked out of their respecitve lands. Its very dark and very funny. Here is a cover shot from one of the latest issues. I'm playing catchup with most of the comics I'm reading right now which is nice because I can buy the trade paper backs (graphic novel like books which are cheaper in the long run to buy) and because i dont have to wait after every cliffhanger I read.
Ok, so I don't want to write anymore, I want to watch a movie or go read something. I may watch Le Cercle Rouge tonight. I hear its excellent and I guess it helps that I seem to love all of Melville's work.
New climbing shoes should be here this week. Heres me being excited. Until then...
